Just a quick note to say the deadline for poster entries for the 2011 Inspire-Aspire awards has been extended slightly from 30th April to Wednesday 11th May, largely due to the knock-on effect of adverse weather conditions forcing school closures at the end of last year.
I know the pressure is on in this final term and timetables are jam-packed however I would encourage you, if possible, to submit at least 3 posters per school which will all be eligible for judging and automatically qualify one of your pupils for a ‘Best in School’ award. Our awards evening this year will be held at Stirling University. Sir Craig Reedie CBE, from the International Olympic Committee will welcome prize winners while triple Olympic Silver medallist, Katherine Grainger MBE will present the awards.
By taking part in Inspire-Aspire your school is eligible to become an official ‘Get Set’ school of London 2012. For this you will receive a plaque and certificate, and give you the right to use the London 2012 education logo. Becoming a Get Set school also give you access to exclusive rewards like tours of the Olympic Park, visits from athletes, merchandise and much more! Upon completing the programme, all you have to do to join the Get Set network is go to http://getset.london2012.com/en/join-us/how-do-i-apply and click ‘Register’ then ‘Teacher Registration’.
