School of the Month - St John's Primary School, Barrhead

We are happy to announce that St John's Primary School in Barrhead is our School of the Month. The pupils at St John’s have been working extremely hard to use the Olympic and Paralympic Games and their values to inspire them. Pupils are participating in a number of Olympic themed activities set up around the school for all year groups to engage in.
Elaine O'Donnell, Depute Headteacher at St John's Primary, "This is an extensive programme which fully engages all of our pupils, staff and local community in the legacy of the Olympic and Commonwealth games. We are highly committed to the values of the games, which tie in very well with our school ethos, as a health promoting, Unicef Rights Respecting Level 2 School. Our pupils have a strong voice, every pupil being involved in a Committee to take forward initiatives as well as the voice they have to drive projects within their class."

Inspire-Aspire look forward to receiving St John's entries which will be entered into the national competition. The Scottish Awards Ceremony will be held at Hampden Stadium in Glasgow on 8th June 2012.
